Game & Product Designer — Apr 2025 — Present
As the main game design responsible on the platform, I own educational game design end-to-end — from initial concept and core loop definition through prototyping, production and post-launch iteration.
I have shipped 4 games to date, with several more in active development. Each title targets specific learning objectives across subjects like maths, language and science, and must work within the constraints of a kids' platform: short sessions, no reading required, and feedback that feels rewarding rather than punishing.
Beyond new titles, I have led rework projects on existing games where engagement or retention metrics were underperforming. This involves diagnosing friction points through analytics and playtesting, proposing and validating design changes, and tracking the KPI impact after re-release.
Beyond individual games, I contribute to the broader product as a feature designer. My focus is on identifying opportunities to add excitement and depth to the platform — not just fixing what's broken, but finding new ways to engage kids and give families more value.
A key area has been designing alternative learning formats: experiences that go beyond the classic game loop to offer different entry points into learning content — more open-ended, more creative, or structured differently to reach kids who don't respond as well to traditional quiz or arcade mechanics.
I also contribute to the design of the Sofatutor app itself — the shell experience surrounding the games. This includes navigation, system-level features and onboarding flows.
Notable work includes the design of the multiprofile system, which allows multiple children within a family to have separate profiles, progress and personalised content. This required mapping complex edge cases, designing a clear information architecture, and making the profile-switching experience fast and frictionless for both kids and parents.
I have also contributed to menu and navigation redesigns, improving content discoverability and reducing the steps to reach learning content — with measurable improvements in session start rates.
